Vinyasa Flow
A vigorous flowing style of yoga. Strictly, the word Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” In a vinyasa class the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This technique is called Vinyasa Flow because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The style allows for a lot of variety, but will almost certainly include Sun Salutations: expect movement, not just stretching.
Essence Yoga
This type of yoga is grounded in science to change brain waves, and biochemistry, to create your happiest self. Focusing on quality of breath and state of mind all while opening and strengthening the body, and calming the overactive mind. Suitable for all levels.
Sunrise Yoga
This morning yoga class is designed to awaken the body through breath and movement, stretching and formal relaxation.
Power Yoga
Power Yoga is a vigorous, fitness-based approach to Vinyasa-style yoga with an emphasis on strength and flexibility and closely modeled on the Ashtanga style of practice. These classes are often recommended for people with some familiarity of the basic postures.
Yin Yoga
Yin is a deeply meditative practice that includes holding postures for an extended period of time. By stretching the connective tissue, this practice can condition you to sit more comfortably and will lengthen the body.
Gentle Yoga
Gentle Yoga presents basic yoga poses. The class emphasizes stretching, coordination of breath with movement and attention to alignment. The class is designed to create breath awareness, increase flexibility, range of motion and improvement of balance. A variety of yoga postures and breathing techniques are practiced. All yoga classes end with deep relaxation and a guided visualization to help release tensions and reduce stress.
Beginners Flow
Suitable for beginners and moderate level practitioners, this class explores a variety of yoga poses and breath techniques. Postures flow in a way that builds heat, strength and endurance while lengthening and rejuvenating the body’s muscles and connective tissues. Modifications will be provided so that all students regardless of age, body type or experience level can participate fully and to their own personal edge.
Prenatal Yoga
This class is for expectant mothers of any age, level, experience, and stage of pregnancy with permission by heath-care provider. Prenatal Yoga is not only an ideal way to stay in shape and healthy during pregnancy; but, more importantly, is an opportunity for expectant mothers to develop an awareness of their bodies (that is home for two) and deepen the relationship with their babies. Through gentle postures, breath work, vocal toning, and meditation, mothers “train” and prepare for the marathon of labor, delivery and motherhood. Through relaxation and focus, expectant mothers will learn to listen deeply and trust the innate birthing wisdom of their own bodies, thus increasing the joys of the experience. Click here to inquire about class.
This class is for babies 6 weeks to 12 months and their loving moms. Designed to allow moms to regain strength and flexibility, and to bond with their baby in an enjoyable and relaxing activity, as well as to connect with other new moms. Portions of each class are devoted to allowing moms to practice a number of postures and experience a sense of well-being. The remaining portion of the class leads moms in facilitating baby yoga postures, exercises and concludes with a relaxing infant massage. The atmosphere is informal and supportive with the needs of infants being a priority. There are many benefits of yoga for the baby: promote mom/baby bond, strengthen muscles in legs and base of spine, improve muscular coordination, strength and balance to facilitate sitting, crawling and walking, opening of chest for efficient breathing and oxygen delivery, assists in better sleeping patterns, and more! Anastasia Kokotis
Anastasia is certified at the 500 hour level with the College of Purna Yoga near Seattle, Washington, and is currently studying to become a certified Purna Yoga Instructor at the 2000 hour level. She has been a student of yoga since 1996, when she discovered that it was the most effective way to reduce the stress of law school and to maintain physical fitness. After law school, Anastasia moved to Miami where she was exposed to many different styles of yoga, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini and Bikram yoga. She enjoys teaching vinyasa classes – classes that link poses together in a flow – while still paying careful attention to proper alignment.
Michael Paul
Michael Paul (aka "Big Mike", “Tall Mike”, “Yoga Mike”) is a near lifelong resident of the greater Melbourne area. The very first time Mike participated in a full-fledged yoga session was doing the "Yoga X" practice from the P90X® at-home workout program- a power-esque format. Fifteen minutes into the practice, while trembling and sweating profusely in a "Warrior 2," Mike knew he was onto something new in his fitness life and began taking a variety of yoga classes. He earned his 200-hour certification in BEAM Yoga® in the Kripalu Tradition with Linda Morse in December 2008, gaining a greater awareness and understanding of the meditative aspects of yoga. Mike has experience teaching many styles of Hatha and varying intensities- gentle, moderate, Power, Ashtanga, and Yin. Mike is really looking forward to teaching at Sun Yoga in a studio setting once again so as to be able to focus as much on the meditative aspects of a yoga practice as well as the physical and fitness aspects. Mike will be teaching the very disparate styles of Power and Yin for Sun Yoga.
Hope Thomas
Hope has been practicing various styles of yoga over the past seventeen years. She began predominately with an Ashtanga based practice in order to supplement and bring balance to her athletic endeavors. Upon moving to Boulder, CO, she became exposed to a variety of other styles including; Bikrim, Iyengar, Power and Vinyasa Flow. After a long career in Paramedicine, she returned to Florida and found the perfect opportunity to pursue her desire to teach yoga. Initially trained by Jimmy Barkan in “Hot Yoga/The Barkan Method”, Hope has spent time with countless other yoga “greats” at trainings and workshops. She also enjoyed the benefits of Pre and Postnatal Yoga during and after her pregnancies leading to certifications in Prenatal Yoga, Mommy & Baby Yoga, So Big Yoga (toddlers), Kids Yoga and Stroller Fitness.
Hope’s classes incorporate various styles and lineages creating a flow with music (meditation in motion) focusing on breath and foundation / alignment of postures. She believes a main goal of teaching yoga is to assist others of any age and level to find balance within oneself and awareness of the combined physical, mental, and spiritual gifts yoga offers.

EXPLORING CONNECTIONS THROUGH PARTNER YOGA
WORKSHOP: Sunday, August 14th from 12-2pm
Join professional educators Gina Steffens and EJ Lubno for a special workshop at Sun Yoga! This workshop will be fun and dynamic introduction to Partner Yoga, which utilizes the forms and principles of individual postures while incorporating the presence of another person to deepen the impact of each pose. In Partner Yoga, there is no giver or receiver in a posture, so all partners are fully engaged in their own experience, yet as partners work together and support one another, Partner Yoga provides a forum for examining larger principles of relationship as well. Some postures challenge balance, strength, and flexibility, while others work on concentration and alignment. A brief yet restorative introduction to partner Pranassage - a creative synthesis of yoga and bodywork - will also be included.
Come alone or bring a partner, friend, or family member!

Joy Golding
Joy has been a Yoga Practitioner for 14 years and a teacher for 8. Joy considers herself an eternal student, always open to learning more. Joy got her teacher training in Los Angeles with Bryan Kest at his studio in Santa Monica. Since then, Joy has studied with Shiva Rea, David Williams, Kino MacGregor, Sharon Gannon, and most recently completed a Teacher Training with Manju Jois. Although Joy's teaching is steeped in traditional Ashtanga, she incorporates the freedom of Vinyasa Flow into her classes. Joy's classes are vigorous and challenging, however any level of practitioner is welcomed. Joy gives personal attention to her student's needs. States Joy, "Never sacrifice the breath for the posture; if you're not breathing, it's not yoga."
Alexis Henry
Alexis has been practicing yoga for many years as an important building block to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Throughout her studies, she has been exposed to many types of yoga. Her favorites to teach and practice are Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow and Power Yoga. Yoga has provided her injury rehabilitation and an important daily activity to maintain a healthy body & mind. Alexis is a RYT 200 hour teacher that has completed Ashtanga teacher training with Manju Jois. She also holds teacher certifications in Power Pilates, Pilates Method Alliance, and Barre. Rosalba Diaz
Rosalba, a RYT 200 hour teacher, began her yoga practice at a Bikram studio in California eight years ago. After several year of practicing, she realized her love for Vinyasa Flow yoga, which provided a change in sequence on a physical level but also offered a balance of strength, breath and relaxation - a way to truly look inside herself. She is a continual student of yoga and enjoys doing as many classes and workshops as she can.
Rosalba brings her passion for yoga to her students, beginners through advanced. She enjoys teaching students how to develop their own practice and the positive changes yoga brings to their lives. For the past two years, she has been teaching weekly at Harris Corporation in bringing yoga to the workplace.
"By practicing yoga as worship with intensity and passion you ignite awareness as you use your body to move through asanas. Yoga advances your spirtuality, not your ego. It brings you wisdom. It awakens you from the sleep of illusion, and the gross sleep of the world." Namaste.
